How to put today's date in a cell
Write: = Today() in the function bar
to get the () just press the
shift
and at the same time press 9 and then 0 -zero-
Click on the green arrow:
(just means
I'm finished,
show me the results).
Todays date...

Getting Fancy
Now, RIGHT click the cell and choose Format Cells
Choose
Custom
(down the bottom)
write: ddd/mmm/yyyy
When you click OK, you will now see the date as: Mon/Apr/2012
Looking good...
To get: Monday/30/April/2012
Type the following in the
Custom
box:
dddd/dd/mmmm/yyyy
In the
Custom
box, type:
dddd dd mmmm yyyy
Click on OK
Now, that is looking good.
Play around with it. Try putting in dashes (-) instead of spaces, or full stops (.), all looks good.
Looks pretty good ..... and not at all hard.
